ISPS (International Ship and Port Security) requires every visitor to our yard to register in advance via our website

https://www.dixstone.com/registration.html

 

Follow the signs for port number 4630.

 

Once you have reached the Estlandweg 8, please park your car in a parking lot or along the road and report in the security lodge.

 

You must carry a valid government issue photo ID card, passport or Dutch driving license.

You will receive an access badge which is also being used for access to rigs.

 

Please make sure you return your badge after your visit.

NOW YOU HAVE ENTERED DIXSTONE SHIPYARD, WELCOME!

 

At this yard we are operating heavy transport vehicles and performing high risk jobs, therefore we have several rules to guarantee that you and other people remain safe.

 

Everyone must comply to our rules.

 

Any person violating the rules will be removed from the yard.

 

Read the following instructions carefully.

PORT SECURITY

 

Due to port security regulations:

  • Your personal details will be stored in our database, but no longer than required.
  • 24/7 CCTV.
  • Inspection on persons, verhicles and luggage can be executed.
  • Do not leave any items e.g., luggage unattended in public areas on the premises.

OTHER IMPORTANT RULES

 

  • Filming a/o photography is not allowed, without prior approval of management.
  • We expect you to correct unsafe activities and/or situations immediately. Your host/hostess will report this situation.
  • Visitors will not be allowed at the production locations unaccompanied.
  • You are responsible for your own waste, please throw it in the correct waste container.

At this yard you will find a workshop, three permanent warehouses and a mobile hall.

 

Besides Dixstone Shipyard, three other parties are permanently located at this yard:

  • Holland Shipyards BV Steel construction
  • JCS Vlissingen BV Painting
  • Draaicentrum BV Machining

YARD FACILITY

 

In the picture on the left, the walking route to the contractor park and the rigs are shown.

 

Yellow lines = PPE free path/area

Red lines = advised walking routes to the rigs

PPE free paths and areas can be recognized by the yellow and green lines as shown in the picture on the left.

MANDATORY PPE

 

  • Safety hard-hat/ helmet
  • Safety glasses
  • Gloves
  • Work shoes with security toecap (S3)
  • Protective work clothing
    • Brightly colored and reflective outer clothing
    • Fire resistant

 

Additional PPE

Required for specific jobs or locations:

  • Gloves: when working on rigs or other locations with a higher risk of sharp objects and edges
  • Dust mask: when working in dusty areas, using machine tools producing fine dusts or when there is a risk of inhaling toxic vapors
  • Fall protection: when working more than 1.8 meter above the ground
  • Life vest: when working within 1 meter (behind red line) from quay wall or above water/on pontoon
  • Other job required PPE
  • Always check if you are using the right PPE or any additional PPE might be required in your situation! Having doubts? Discuss with your foreman or a safety officer.

PROHIBITED

 

  • No access for unauthorized persons
  • Being under the influence of alcohol or psychotropics, or having them in your possession
    • -If you are taking medication that may impair your reaction time, notify your supervisor or your contact person before you start work
  • Smoking (incl. e-cigarettes) is prohibited, except in the designated smoking areas as per Site Plan
  • Entering warehouses and workshop, unless it is your working location

TRANSPORT

 

The following traffic rules apply on our yard:

  • Dutch road traffic legislation is applicable
  • Maximum speed 15 km/h • Always drive low gear
  • Turn on your running lights and hazard indicators
  • Do not walk underneath a load in the crane
  • Parking on-site is at own risk
  • Reversed parking in the designated parking spaces is required
  • Bicycles are prohibited

HEAVY TRANSPORT (PLANT)

 

Be aware of the heavy transport equipment we have on the yard. It is important to always stay alert. The operators will not always be able to see you.

 

In this picture, you see the following transport equipment:

  • Forklift
  • Cherry picker
  • Scissor lift
  • Terminal truck
  • Reach stacker
  • Hydraulic trailer

CRAWLER CRANE / RESTRICTED AREA

 

At this yard we have crawler cranes operating daily for our projects.

 

The crane area is only accessible to authorized personnel.

Don’t walk underneath a load.

Stay away from the crawler crane.

Keep in mind to always watch above your head if you are working close by the crane.

EVACUATION

 

In the event of an alarm, unless otherwise directed, proceed to the nearest muster point.

The two muster points are:

 

  • Near the security lodge at the entrance of the yard
  • At the light pole near the container hall at the quay

 

Stick to your host/hostess.

Exit the building calmly.

Follow instructions from your foreman or contact person.

The assembly points are also shown in the Site Plan.

COOPERATION

 

We will ask you for your cooperation:

  • Looking after your own safety and that of your colleagues. Address unsafe behavior with each other and prevent or rectify unsafe situations.
  • During security checks and inspections at gates, at workplaces and in canteens or changing rooms
  • During Evacuations

MAKE SURE YOU KNOW

 

  • Any additional and specific rules that apply for the project or the location where you are working. If you are unsure, ask your supervisor.
  • The location of the nearest member of the emergency response team who is on duty.
  • The location of the escape doors and escape routes where you are working.
  • What hazard symbols, stickers and labels mean.
  • You are also responsible for your own safety and that of your colleagues.
