About the Role:

The HR Cost Analyst is responsible for analysing, forecasting, and reporting on labour and HR-related costs to support strategic workforce planning and budget management. This role partners with HR, Finance, and department leaders to provide insights on employee-related expenses, compensation trends, benefits utilisation, and headcount planning, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Cost Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyse and track workforce costs, including salaries, benefits, incentives, and other employee-related expenditures
  • Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual HR cost reports and forecasts
  • Identify cost trends, risks, and opportunities related to HR spending

 

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead the annual HR budget process in collaboration with Finance and HR Business Partners
  • Forecast future labour and benefits costs based on trends, organisational growth, and economic indicators
     

Headcount & Workforce Planning

  • Track and report on headcount, turnover, and workforce changes
  • Support workforce planning initiatives by modelling cost impacts of hiring plans, reorganisations, and restructures

Compensation & Benefits Analysis

  • Evaluate compensation trends and support benchmarking and salary review processes
  • Analyse benefits, utilisation, and cost-effectiveness; provide recommendations for cost optimisation
     

Compliance & Audit Support

  • Ensure data integrity and support internal/external audits with labour cost data
  • Maintain confidentiality and compliance with labour laws and data privacy regulations

Tools & Process Improvement

  • Develop and enhance dashboards, KPIs, and data models using Excel, HRIS, and analytics tools
  • Drive process improvements and automation in HR cost reporting and analysis

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Human Resources, or a related field. MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CPA, SHRM-CP, CCP) is a plus
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, cost analysis, or HR analytics, preferably in a corporate HR or finance environment

Required Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools
  • Experience with HRIS systems
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • English Mandatory, French is a plus
